How to Deploy a Google Cloud Server Instance

Sign in to Google Cloud after creating an account.

Select the navigation icon in the top-left corner of the screen.

Navigate to VPC network and select Firewall.

Select Create Firewall Rule.

For Network, select default.

For Priority, leave it at 1000.

For Direction of Traffic, select Ingress.

For Action on Match, select Allow.

For Targets, select Specified target tags.

For Target tags, type allow-all-ports and press Enter.

For Protocols and ports, select Allow all.

Finish creating the firewall rule by selecting the Create button.

Select the navigation icon in the top-left corner of the screen.

Navigate to Compute Engine and select VM instances.

Select Create Instance.

Type an instance Name.

Select a Machine type for memory and CPU.

For Boot disk, select Change.

Change the boot disk image OS to Debian 9, Debian 10, Ubuntu 18.04 or Ubuntu 20.04.

For Firewall, select the blue text that says networking.

Select the Networking tab.

For Network tags, type allow-all-ports and press Enter.

Finish creating the instance by selecting the Create button.

When the instance is created, copy the External IP and Internal IP to use during the installation processes.

Select the SSH button for the VM instance to connect to the server.
