How to Deploy a Microsoft Azure Server Instance

Sign in to Microsoft Azure after creating an account.

Select the navigation icon in the top-left corner of the screen.

Select Virtual machines.

Select Add.

Select Virtual machine.

For Virtual machine name, type a unique instance name.

For Region, select a location for the proxy server.

For Image, select Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS - Gen1.

For Size, select a pricing plan.

For Authentication type, select Password.

For Username, type a unique root SSH username.

For Password, type a strong root SSH password.

Select Networking.

For NIC network security group, select None.

Select Review + create.

Finish creating the instance by selecting the Create button.

When the instance is created, select the Go to resource button.

Copy the Public IP address to use during the installation processes.

SSH in to the server with the system terminal application or command prompt.

ssh username@10.20.30.40

The username should be the actual unique root SSH username from the custom instance settings.

10.20.30.40 should be the actual public IP address.

Press Enter.

The command line will ask the following question.

Are you sure you want to continue connecting?

Type yes and press Enter.

Type the instance unique root SSH password and press Enter to connect to the server.
