How to Deploy an UpCloud Server Instance

Sign in to UpCloud after creating an account.

Select the Deploy Server button in the middle of the screen.

For Operating System, select either Debian 10 or Ubuntu 20.04.

For Plan, select a pricing plan.

For Location, select a location for the proxy server.

Finish creating the server by selecting the Deploy button.

When the server is created, copy the public IPv4 address to use during the installation processes.

You'll receive an email after creating the server with the root login credentials.

SSH in to the server with the system terminal application.

ssh root@10.20.30.40

Press Enter.

The command line will ask the following question.

Are you sure you want to continue connecting?

Type yes and press Enter.

Type the server SSH password from the email and press Enter.

Paste the activation command and press Enter to connect to the server.

After connecting to the server, change the root password with this command.

sudo passwd
